host.kyaa.fun: Your own > tiny < HTML host!

If you're interested in having a page or two hosted here, please make sure you understand the abilities and limitations of this service. I reserve the right to accept or reject any application for hosting, and in the event that I believe you are misusing your allocated resources, I reserve the right to revoke your access to the service.

Signing Up

Before signing up for an account, give me a heads up that you're interested. Please e-mail me at koinuko (at) yahoo (dot) com with a rundown of what you plan to do with your space. It's fine if you aren't completely sure or it changes down the line - I just want to know what to expect in terms of file size, visibility, bandwidth, and the like.

If I deny your request, it could be for any number of reasons - please don't take it personally! This is a very new and experimental project. I have to take into account my own server's resources and make sure I don't overload it with more than it can handle.

Security and Privacy

Files hosted in your individual folder are visible only to you, the user, and me, the host. You can access the file editor and your files using your username and password. Other users cannot access your folder or edit your files.

Your password is encrypted in the database. This means that I do not know what your password is. If you lose it, I can provide a randomized secure password for you.

Best Practices

Tips to help you get the most out of hosting here.

Local Backups: It's always a good idea to keep a copy of your files locally, on your own computer. That way, if something happens to your hosting, you don't lose any precious work or information. Ideally, you would write your code locally, and upload the files here when you're ready for them to go online.

FAQ

Why are you offering hosting?
Simply put, there are two reasons:

1.) Because I wanted to see if I could, and
2.) Because I want to encourage as many people as possible to try their hand at learning HTML or having their own website.

I'm very serious when I say that I think everyone should give HTML a shot at least once. It's the lifeblood of the webpages that we visit every single day, and a lot of people probably don't know anything about it. There are a lot of creative people out there who are stuck on platforms that consistently limit or impede them. I'm not saying that a simple static webpage could fix all their frustrations, but I definitely don't think it would hurt to show them that there is another way out there. Even if it doesn't have all the bells and whistles you're used to, it's also free of misguided updates that make you wonder why you're even on a certain platform in the first place.

What filetypes are allowed?
As of 03/18/26 the following filetypes are allowed:
.jpg, .jpeg, .gif, .png, .webp, .ico, .txt, .html, .htm, .js, .json, .css, .md, .xml

This may be adjusted in the future if it seems I'm missing a common filetype. However, this will remain static hosting - so no .php files, for example.
